Nebraska Paid Sick Leave Act to go into Effect Oct. 1
Effective October 1, 2025, required Nebraska employers must comply with Nebraska’s new Paid Sick Leave Act (LB415) by providing at least forty (40) hours of accrued paid sick leave in a year if they employ between eleven (11) and nineteen (19) eligible employees or at least fifty-six (56) hours of accrued paid sick leave in a year if they employ twenty (20) or more eligible employees. Eligible employees who work at least eighty (80) hours of consecutive employment will begin accruing paid sick leave at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours worked. Nebraska employers who have an existing paid time off (PTO) that already meets the requirements of the Act are not required to provide additional paid sick leave.
